NETWORK Support ENGINEER (Data Solutions)
Description:
This role is based in Singapore on local package.
Reporting to the Manager of Technical Support based in Singapore, you are responsible for providing technical assistance of our products running on various operating systems for customers based primarily in APAC, Japan, and the United States via telephone and other electronic means of communication in a technical call center environment.
Provide support and technical assistance of F5 products running on various operating systems to internal, external customers and partners ranging from small Internet companies to large multi-national corporations with an Internet presence. The Network Support Engineer typically spends between 3 and 4 hours per day supporting customers over the phone.
With direction utilizes various troubleshooting tools, facilities and equipment at F5 to replicate/solve customer issues. Sets customer expectations as necessary, and accepts ownership of customer issues until a solution is achieved providing complete customer satisfaction. This will encompass trouble-shooting, case creation, resolution and documentation.
Responsibilities:
· Work with customers to provide remote troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software issues.
· Always provides excellent customer service.
· Knowledge of client/server and network troubleshooting methodologies.
· Case management follow-up.
· Work with customers at varying levels of experience or technical capability under varying time constraints.
Language Requirements:
· You must be fluent in English (both verbal and written)
· Asian language or Japanese fluency is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
· A strong operating system background in Microsoft Windows and UNIX/Linux with system admin expertise in at least one of the two operating systems.
· Undergraduate Computer Science Degree preferred.
· At least 5 years of relevant technical work experiences.
· Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of NFS and network/server security, major NAS platforms and CIFS.
· Experience working with LAN and WAN topologies, TCP/IP protocol, and routers/switches required.
· Demonstrated knowledge of high availability architectures, VLANs and Routing (L2/3) and TCP/IP.
· F5 Products or competitive products experience strongly desired.
· Knowledge of and experience with network storage NASs/SANs platforms.
