Product Manager
Role:
Direct, motivate and lead the product management team so as to achieve the budgeted revenue by products through formulation of strategy, marketing, sales, creating value propositions, competitive pricing, to increase subscribers base, active users, usage and reduce churn.
Responsibilities:
1. Formulate strategic directions for the product portfolio to ensure that the product portfolio remains competitive and attractive for customer retention. Continuously working with Marketing team to promote and market the products to ensure that existing customers use the product and to attract new customers.
2. Ensuring that the products are simple, easy to use and reliable. Leading the team works with all the relevant stakeholders to ensure that downtime is kept to a minimal by monitoring the value chain of the products.
3. Leading the team to work with Technology/Partners/Vendors to develop competitive products for the market place by defining the wants and needs of the market place. Products Managers continuously evaluate the market place to ensure that the product range remain competitive via enhancement of existing products or development of new products. Establish partnerships with vendors and providers to support business goals. Products Managers are also responsible for the development of the business case and forecasting.
4. Working with Loyalty Management/ Strategy and Planning/Customer Service/Sales and Distribution team to understand our customer’s life cycle and needs and to ensure that the products continuously remain competitive to our customers and develop and promote “sticky” features to ensure customers stay with us.
5. Working with direct and indirect sales teams to continuously ensure that our products are competitive and attractive within the market place. (To ensure that target segments are properly addressed in terms of product, price plans and distribution channel.)
6. Direct the team to work on the above in meeting our revenue budget, through development, marketing and sales of our products to ensure take-up rate and usage. The team also monitors potential revenue leakage by working on the product value chain with the respective stakeholders.
Requirements:
Qualifications
* Post Graduate Degree in Marketing and Management, preferably with an MBA
Skills and Knowledge
* Business acumen with Passion for Business.
* Understanding of the market place is essential with experience in consumer marketing is an advantage (Good understanding of the Marketing 4 Ps – product, price, promotion and place)
* Good understanding of pricing, budgeting and forecasting and building business cases
* With good strategy development and implementation.
* Ability to work, direct and motivate different team members (within the team or within Nextel) and understands the value chain.
Length of experience
* Marketing experience with a minimal of about 7 years in the Telco, FMCG or consumer goods
